Part of man’s day use to be dedicated to producing livelihood. Another part of the man’s day use to be dedicated in selling and buying. Yet, another part of the day use to be dedicated for making food, washing clothes raising kids. And yet, another part of the day use to be dedicated for leisure time, play time, and rest time.
The relative amount of time spent on each of these spheres changed due to the things like technology changes (new tools, etc.) or environmental changes (social and physical) for better or worse.
The modern man celebrates the division of “man’s parts of the day”. Everyone easily observes and acknowledges, that some people just produce, and some people just buy and sell, and yet some people just wash and raise kids. What it is harder to acknowledge is that, consequently some people must just play, and yet, some pre occupy just with leisure.
The modern man celebrates how much he can produce and how advanced he become, yet fails to notice that in the meantime his head and legs and arms and all the organs have detached from his body.
